REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS LIVING IN URBAN SETTINGS

Tahrir Square, Cairo, Egypt – 11th-13th April 2012

SPONSORED BY the Psycho-Social Services and Training Institute in Cairo in affiliation with American University in Cairo (AUC) Center for Migration and Refugee Studies.

Providing psychosocial and mental health support to refugees and migrants living in urban settings is a growing professional challenge. From developing to developed countries from the west to the east and the north to the south, refugees and migrants are living in urban centers. Refugee camps are designed to provide structured support. Urban settings are not. During this conference, participants will share their experiences and research about the consequences of urban life for refugees and migrants and their creative efforts to provide effective psychosocial and mental health support.

Participants will be from 20 countries. Please see Conference program.  If you want to join us please complete the registration form and send to mhpssurbanconference@gmail.com
