I am a psycho-social practitioner by profession and have been working in the development field for 5 years, with a focus on child rights and protection. My special interests lie in the areas of juvenile justice, children in residential care, children in contact/conflict with the law, child victims of abuse and children in emergency contexts.

I am actively involved in several child protection initiatives at present, as a Steering Committee Member and President of the Colombo District Forum of the Child Rights Advocacy Network (CRAN), a member of the Care and Protection of Children (CPC) Learning Network in Sri Lanka, an Associate of the Good Practice Group and as a practicing Counsellor, an independent consultant and a trainer.

I am also involved in the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support field as the Network Host and Regional Host for Asia, for the Global MHPSS Network (www.mhpss.net).
